Gio has been a part of the Firstline family since 2021, he began as an athlete with the Nait Ooks soccer team where he trained weekly at Firstline on their journey to winning a bronze medal at the national championship. He then transitioned into the role of a practicum student for his last semester during the completion of his Nait Personal Training Fitness Diploma.
Since then Gio has stepped onto the floor where he uses his passion for sports and fitness, helping others achieve their maximum potential and guiding them towards their goals. “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”. Gio believes you hold the key to your own success whether that is starting a new fitness journey, making a return from an injury, or wanting to take training to the next level.
Gio values his ability to connect with individuals of all ages and create a guide that is tailored to each individual’s needs. He has experience working with the Youth Phoenix Soccer organization along with other athletes in various sports. Gio strives in helping his clients succeed whether that is helping an athlete excel in their sport or an individual wanting to improve their quality of life.
“It is never too late for a new start”. Kim Bruce. This is my motto, this is what I live by, this is what my clients see everyday. I am not just talking about being physically fit, I am talking about being mentally strong, and confident. Knowing that whatever life throws you to knock you off track you have the skills to get up & “start again”. This deep rooted passion to help my clients see the untapped potential is what I fell in love with as a specialist in nutrition & fitness. My passion started over 25 years ago as a fitness leader teaching all types of classes. My love for the industry moved me from corporate Canada to completing my schooling as a personal trainer. Over the past 12 years I have completed numerous courses including Precision Nutrition & Biomechanics specialist through corrective exercise. I love to watch the transformation, I love to watch movement, I love to watch my clients succeed.
Phil’s goal is to help athletes get to the next level in their game.
Phil has been involved in the fitness industry since 2006. In the spring of 2014, Phil and fellow trainer Darren Ross decided to partner up after working together for the past 7 years and open up Firstline Fitness Training. After growing up playing competitive hockey and graduating from the NAIT PFT program in the spring of 2006, Phil knew his passion was in the hockey industry. Phil has taken athletes from Bantam all the way through to the pro hockey level; working with Bantam, Midget, Junior, NCAA, CIS, or Pro levels.
Over the years Phil has developed an off season training program for hockey players that has become his primary focus and passion. Helping facilitate young hockey players and producing some of the fittest clients in hockey has been one of the most rewarding things in Phil’s career. Phil believes in continuous learning to ensure that he provides his athletes with the most he can offer.
